Martha Melahn is a world traveler, fluent in four languages. Having traveled and spent over two decades abroad, Melahn now resides in South Florida. She began her professional writing career in the early 1960's as a reporter in Germany for United Press (precursor to U.P.I.) and the American newspaper, The Overseas Weekly. Currently, she writes for local newspapers as a contributor to The Miami Herald, Miami Magazine, and The Coconut Grover (where she penned "The Gardening Corner" and a cooking column).
