PIM MARTENS holds degrees in Biological and Environmental Health Sciences from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. He worked within the project 'Global Dynamics and Sustainable Development', launched in 1992 by the Dutch National institute of Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).
