Jan Manning was born in a 1952 blizzard in northern Minnesota, where she spent her first 21 years. She studied speech/communications/journalism at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and went on to become a well published freelance writer and an Army public affairs officer. Retired now, she and her husband of 28 years live a dream life in rural Montana. Horseback riding, cross-country skiing, and the sport of dog agility consume most of her time. Her leftover time is set aside for writing. "Bucket List Weight Loss" is the first in a series of self-help books for baby boomers.
