Aditya Malik studied Philosophy, History, Anthropology and Religious Studies at the Universities of Delhi, Pune and Heidelberg where he received his PhD and, subsequently, Habilitation (Professorial Degree) in Modern Indian Studies. He has a been Senior Fellow of the German Research Foundation at the South Asia Institute, University of Heidelberg; Visiting Faculty at the Institute of Advanced Studies, Hebrew University, Jerusalem; and Visiting Professor at the University of Delhi.
