Don Mak received his MSc and PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Toronto. He was an adjunct professor at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, in 2001. He was also a research scientist at the Material Technology Laboratories, Department of Natural Resources, Ottawa, Canada.
