Jack Mahoney [L.D. Galway], the middle child of four brothers, three step brothers and one sister, was fed a steady diet of classics by his mother and developed a love of reading and creating. Jack left his Midwestern hometown at an early age to see the world. After realizing how little could be seen from a submarine, he left the Navy and went to school at Arizona State where he studied literature and journalism.
