A native Oregonian, Alice Lynn grew up in the Willamette Valley. Reading, writing, drawing, and music were a large part of childhood. Many of her happiest memories as a teen-ager are horseback riding with friends through the rural countryside. Her interests as an adult have included sculpting, poetry, amateur theatricals, gardening, and needlework. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Marylhurst University in 1999.
