I grew up in the Appalachian foothills of north Georgia, spending summer evenings on the front porch listening spellbound as grownups told tales of local events, including stories of the supernatural. Storytelling has been a big part of my life ever since. As a small child, I often entertained myself by imagining exciting stories, even before I could write.
