Graham Lovell was interested in Church history, particularly in regard to the first three hundred years of Christian history, which is to say, before the conversion of Constantine to Christianity. He was drawn to the study of Gregory of Neocaesarea (aka Gregory Thaumaturgus) as Gregory represented the only well-documented case of a recognized missionary figure after Paul the Apostle.
