Falling in love with writing was a happy accident back in junior high for Kathleen Lopez. The assignment of covering the latest school event for a county paper fell in her lap when the teacher passed it along to her at age 14. Journalism became a passion and then a career she spanned over the next 10 years, writing throughout school and freelancing once graduating college. Several of her poems were published during her college career at Florida State University where she pursued a creative writing degree.
