Donald W. Livingston (Ph.D., Washington University) is professor of philosophy at Emory University and a specialist in the writings of David Hume. A National Endowment for Humanities fellow and a member of the editorial board of Hume Studies, Livingston's Hume's Philosophy of Common Life (1984) and Philosophical Melancholy and Delirium: Hume's Pathology of Philosophy (1998) were published by the University of Chicago Press.
