Xiaoyi Liu graduated from The University of Arizona with a Ph.D. in 2010 majoring Late Imperial Chinese History. Her dissertation is titled Clothing, Food and Travel: Ming Material Culture as Reflected in Xingshi Yinyuan Zhuan. Her other research interests include, but are not limited to: history of Chinese women's education, Republican Era history, translation and contemporary movies.
