Lucy R. Lippard is a writer/curator/editor/lecturer/activist and the author of twenty-one books on contemporary art and cultural criticism, most recently "Down Country: The Tano of the Galisteo Basin, 1250-1782" (Santa Fe, NM: Museum of New Mexico Press, 2010); "The Lure of the Local: Senses of Place in a Multicentered Society" (New York: New Press, 1997); and "On the Beaten Track: Tourism, Art, and Place" (New York: New Press, 1999).
