Kathi Linz's first memory is that of leaning against her mother listening to her read a story. After acquiring a brother and two sisters, Kathi helped entertain the younger ones by making up stories. In due time, Kathi became a teacher. Her students provided inspiration for many stories and the classroom offered oportunities to experiment with nonfiction books for that age level. Linz eventually married and moved out of Illinois to southern Indiana. There she found work as an information assistant in the local library.
