Fil Lewitt was born and raised in northern New England. He has worked over the last half-century as a dishwasher, chef, logger, farmer, orchardist, hotel gardener, Zen Buddhist teacher, and university professor. Lewitt is the author of many articles and has also published fifteen books, mainly mystery-thriller fiction, but also poetry and non-fiction. Most of his books are still in print as well as in ebook format. He and his wife, Tomomi Maeda, now make their home in Bangkok, Thailand.
