Jackie Lewis was born in Preston in 1959. After spending many years travelling around the South of England, as well as a short stint in Ireland and the South of France, in 1993 she returned up north to Manchester with her daughter. She studied English Literature at City College in Manchester and has, through her wealth of experience in a variety of different jobs from barmaid to carer to medical secretary, always fed her writing with the complex psychology of a multitude of characters. After more than twenty years of writing in stolen hours, this is her first collection of short stories.
