Herbert Levy was born in Brooklyn, NY and served in the U.S. Naval Reserve during WWII. After the war, he obtained a law degree and worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development from for over twenty-five years. He later worked as an administrative law judge for the State of New York, retiring in 2006. He's written articles for The Journal of Housing and the New York State Bar Journal, and served as editor for Alexander Kraushar's book, Jacob Frank: The End To the Sabbataian Heresy. He and his wife, Barbara, currently reside in New York City.
