Francois Elie Jules Lemaitre, French writer and playwright, born in 1853, died in 1914, also a university professor, literary critic, member of the French Academy. Among his works there were volumes of poetry "Les Medaillons" (1880) and "Petites"; plays "Le Depute Leveau" and "Le Mariage Blanc" (1891); and tales like "Dix Contes" (1890) and "En marge des vieux livres" (1905).
