Barrett Leibe started 28 retail businesses including five computer stores starting in 1977. With the first micro computers, North Star, it took three days of trying to get the video monitor to connect. All the chips had to be soldered to the logic boards and there was no application software, such as word processing or accounting. Buyers had to write their own.
