Holley Gene Leffler is the granddaughter of Eugene I. 'Ham' Hammond. In 1903, this young mechanic, along with Lester L. 'Whit' Whitman, made the first drive by motor car from San Francisco to Portland, Maine. In 1985, Holley Gene participated in the re-creation of her grandfather's trip. She resides in Southern California and enjoys making turn-of-the-century costumes.
