James Lees was born and raised in Chilliwack, B.C. Canada, and has lived briefly in Vancouver and Irvine, California. In his spare time, he travels, reads and plays the guitar He enjoys biking and floor hockey. He is a student of history and a fan of detective fiction. His love of photography, appreciation of Vancouver, and interest in graphic design and architecture led to his first book, Vancouver Landmarks (now out of print). He lives with his wife, Dolores, in Chilliwack B.C. Their two adult children live in Manitoba and Ontario.
