ABOUT THE AUTHOR Shawn Lane was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Life Skills Center of Akron in 2000. Shortly after he joined the US Navy at age nineteen. In the US Navy he was an Electricians Mate and a Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical). After nine and a half years, and multiple awards, he left with a honorable discharge and returned home to be with his son and family. Starting over wasn't easy.
