Ad Langendijk is distinguished university professor at the University of Amsterdam, professor of physics at the University of Twente, and group leader at the FOM Institute for Atomic and Molecular Physics. He is a fellow of the American Physical Science Society, fellow of the European Optical Society, member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences, and was in 1995 the Loeb lecturer at Harvard University. In 2002, Langendijk was awarded the Spinoza Prize, the Netherlands7; version of the Nobel Prize.
