James LaCroce is an artist and clinical psychologist who lives and works in San Francisco. He is recently married and a happy dog owner. His first book, Chimpy Discovers His Family was published in 2010 and used illustration to tell the story of an orphan chimp who is adopted by a gay couple. Dr. LaCroce uses Chimpy and his friends to tell stories about the challenges and joys of LGBT community.
