Joan Betzold received her BS in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of Minnesota, and her MEd. from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is a retired healthcare consultant, author, columnist, and educator. Currently, she is a part time Special Education substitute teacher in Harford County, MD, as well as a self-employed artist.
