Debra Komar is the author of "The Ballad of Jacob Peck" and "The Lynching of Peter Wheeler", which use forensic methods to re-investigate historical crimes. A Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and a practising forensic anthropologist for over twenty years, she has investigated human rights violations for the United Nations and Physicians for Human Rights, and has testified as an expert witness in The Hague and across North America. She is also the author of many scholarly articles and a textbook, "Forensic Anthropology: Contemporary Theory and Practice."
