Dr. Kluane Spake was an Alaskan resident for over 30 years. She is now a public speaker who travels internationally.

When her kids were small, she would pack them up and take them down to the creeks near Fairbanks to dig for gold. It was a great plan! Armed with a playpen, lunch, a pick axe, a wagon, a gold pan, and a shovel, she used a tricycle basket to separate the big rocks from the dirt.
