Nicholas N. Kittrie is University Professor and the Edwin A. Mooers Scholar in law at the American University. Chairman of the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute for Justice and Peace, he has served as counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and as president of the American Society of Criminology. He has been an advisor to various African, Asian, and East European governments and is a consultant to the United Nations.
