Erika's interest in writing and science began in her elementary years. If she wasn't exploring the woods around her, she was at the library checking out stacks of books. She also penciled away at short stories and poetry. These childhood pursuits blossomed during her studies at The Ohio State University. After obtaining a Bachelor's in Nursing, she spent several years as a Neonatal Intensive Care nurse before deciding to pursue graduate school.
