As a British Indian Police Sub-Inspector, who was stationed in Amritsar, Officer Afzal Haq and his young wife were witness to the Amritsar massacre on April 13, 1919. These actions led by General Dyer and his British troops drove Sub-Inspector Afzal Haq to resign his police post in protest, and to join the non-cooperation movement to free India from British Colonial rule.
