Bob and Trish Kane first developed an interest in covered bridges in 1991 while vacationing in Vermont. Bob enjoys studying their architecture and trusses, while Trish enjoys photographing and researching them. Together, they worked to get 9 of the 13 covered bridges in New York State that qualified listed in the State and National Registers of Historic Places. Trish serves as the collections curator for the Theodore Burr Covered Bridge Resource Center, with much assistance from Bob.
