Ariel Kalil is Assistant Professor in the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago. She received her Ph.D. in developmental psychology from the University of Michigan. Kalil has conducted research on the effects of welfare and the transition from welfare to work on mothers and children; the influence of single parenthood, cohabitation, and non-resident father involvement on family processes and child development; and the transition to adulthood for teenage mothers.
