Melissa C. Jurgensen is a Kentucky historian and author. An extensive world traveler, she has maintained a lifelong interest in the history of communities in her home state. In 2006 Melissa received the commission of Kentucky Colonel, the highest honor in the Commonwealth, from the Governor. Melissa is currently writing a series of county-specific Kentucky covered bridge books with many unpublished photographs as well as travel photography books in the "Through Our Eyes" series with her mother, Judith.
