Dr. Jones is a Professor Emeritus of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Following his retirement from Johns Hopkins in 1978, Dr. Jones and his late wife, Dr. Georgeanna Jones, moved to Norfolk, Virginia to accept faculty positions at the Eastern Virginia Medical School where they were challenged to establish an in vitro fertilization program which resulted in the birth of the first IVF baby born in the United States.
