Jones, Elizabeth McDavid

Jones lived most of her life in North Carolina. She grew up sandwiched between two brothers. She used to wish she were a boy because she thought boys got to have more fun than girls. One of her earliest dreams was to be a jockey in the Kentucky Derby-but only men were allowed to do that.
