Russell Means, an Oglala Lakotah, was descended from Feather Necklace, one of the signers of the Fort Laramie Treaty of 1868. Russell was the first National Director of the American Indian Movement. He spent his life working for the people as an activist, actor, writer, artist and musician. He starred in "Last Of The Mohicans" and wrote a best-selling autobiography, "Where White Men Fear To Tread."
