Judson L. Jeffries is professor of African American and African studies and the director of the African American and African Studies Community Extension Center at the Ohio State University-Columbus. He is the editor of "Comrades: A Local History of the Black Panther Party" and "Black Power in the Belly of the Beast" and the author of "Urban America and Its Police: From the Postcolonial Era through the Turbulent 1960s" (with Harlan Hahn).
