Pat Jeffcoat's inspiration for poetry came from her roots of an abusive childhood and from seeking answers to her questions about the purpose of life. She came from a mixed background. Her dad was an atheist and her mom dragged her and her siblings to catholic church on holidays to squash her feelings of guilt. Pat married a man who was a religious zealot and demanded they attend church three times a week with bible studies in between.
