Joe Farr was raised in the small southern Oklahoma town of Davis, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school he attended the University of Oklahoma where he graduated in 1961 with a BBA. After working for 11 years for the JCPenney Co. he moved to New Mexico and opened his first KFC in Portales in 1973. During his 35 year career as a KFC franchisee he owned and operated 10 restaurants in New Mexico and Texas. In 2007 Joe sold his restaurants and retired to a life of fly fishing and RVing.
