Evelyn James is a British crime writer. She was long-listed for the Asham Award in 2010 and also was runner-up in the Rider Haggard Literary Award. Her work has appeared in a number of anthologies of short stories. The Clara Fitzgerald Mysteries is her first crime series and features the remarkable Clara, who is Brighton's first female private detective and must not only solve crimes, but battle against the male dominated society of 1920s Britain. When not writer Evelyn enjoys walking her dogs along the beautiful East Anglia coastline.
