About the Author: "It's not good to raise a son on the railroad," Gary's mother used to say, "It puts rambling in their shoes." Working for the MK&T railroad, (or the Katy as it was more commonly called) Gary's father and mother, Glenn and Delores Humphrey, lived in a railroad work car.
