A fan of apocalyptic fiction, Hull was inspired to write her dynamic first novel, "Ceres Exley: The Quarantine", by her desire to write a story that explores the causes behind an apocalypse, rather than simply rehashing the horrors of the event itself. In "Ceres Exley", she creates a dystopian future society that is headed for self-annihilation and asks the question, "Can music and love heal us before we get to the edge of the cliff and jump off?"
