Jeannie Hudson grew up on a cattle ranch in Wyoming where her rapport with animals was nourished in a rural environment. She attended Casper College where she was the only student to serve as editor of the campus newspaper The Chinook for two years which included a full scholarship. While at the University of Wyoming, she began writing full time and selling short stories to national magazines.
