The author grew up in a small town in South Alabama and on the Gulf Coast of Florida. After his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in 1980 he later received Master's degrees in both Counseling Psychology and the Humanities from The University of West Florida where he taught briefly as an adjunct. His experience of loss and love was the impetus for his thirty year career as a licensed psychotherapist. He resides with his family near Florida's Gulf Coast.
