Howe, Florence

Howe became closely involved with the women's movement after her active participation in the civil rights and anti-war movements of the 1960s. She becam a founding mother of the women's studies movement during the 1970s and 1980s. She is now professor of English and women's studies at The Graduate Center/CUNY and director and publisher of The Feminist at CUNY.
