The story was written by Phil Houseal and his daughter Hannah, then age 12, and son Sayer, then age 10. Phil Houseal is now a writer and educator living in Fredericksburg, Texas. Hannah is working in fashion merchandising and Sayer is an AmeriCorps volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Illustrator Carly McMahon is a spirited 16-year-old who enjoys expressing herself through art. At the age of 10, after struggling in school, Carly was diagnosed with Dylexia. She hopes that this book will delight and inspire many young readers and artists everywhere.
