Hjelmstad, Lois Tschetter

Lois Tschetter Hjelmstad lives with her husband, Les, in Englewood, Colorado, where she has taught music for almost 40 years. They have four grown children. Lois was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1990 and completed Fine Black Lines in 1993. Since that time, the Hjelmstads have traveled over 300,000 miles, while Lois has spoken in 38 states, England, and Canada, bringing courage and comfort to thousands of women and men and insight to hundreds of healthcare professionals. In 2002, she published The Last Violet: Mourning My Mother, a story about her mother's death and their relationship.
