Sam Hilt grew up in Newark, New Jersey, then moved out to the West Coast where he lived peacefully for many years-until he discovered Tuscany. He and his wife, Pamela, fell in love with Tuscany on their first visit in 1991. They led their first tour in Tuscany in '97, bought a home in '99, and today manage a successful travel company that focuses on small-group, off-the-beaten-track tours throughout Italy.
