Hijab is a writer and journalist specializing in Middle Eastern affairs, and a frequent commentator on the politics of the region for BBC radio and television. Born in Aleppo, Syria to Palestinian Arab parents, she was brought up in Beirut, Lebanon, where she began her career as a journalist.
