Dr. Kenneth Hewitt is professor of Geography at Wilfrid Laurier University and has been a resident of Elora since 1976. He has degrees in geomorphology from Cambridge and London Universities in the U.K. He has also taught at the University of Toronto, and at Rutgers University in the U.S.A. His research has focussed upon high mountain areas, especially the Karakoram Himalaya and Canadian Rocky Mountains, and Southern Ontario. He was Wilfrid Laurier University's first Research Professor, and received the Award for Scholarly Distinction in Geography from the Canadian Association of Geographers
